Moving to Residential Aged Care (a nursing home)
Help and advice with finding short term (respite) or long term residential aged care including:
- finding a facility that has a vacancy in your local area
- working out the fees and choosing the best fee options
- understanding how to fund the fees & how fees may be reduced
- deciding if you should sell or rent the family home
- funding options if your spouse or carer remains in the home
- setting up a myGov & myAged Care account
- obtaining aged care codes
- doing the application with My Aged Care
- updating Centrelink
and
- completing all the paperwork
Downsizing to a smaller home (town house, retirement village etc)
Help and advice with:
- selling your current home
- choosing a trusted real estate agent
- finding the right smaller home to grow old in
- choosing a town house, retirement village, duplex or granny flat.
- making sure you keep some or all of your aged or dva pension
- updating Centrelink / DVA
- understand the sales contract and purchase contract
and
- completing all the paperwork
Bring in home care services
Help and advice with finding:
- a government subsidised home care package in your local area
- strategies to reduce the fees you may need to pay
- choosing the rights supports to suit your needs:
e.g. looking after the garden and yard, medication assistance, help to pay bills,
